Description:
In this year of Canada150 celebrations, many are reflecting on the part their own families played in building this country. Do you know their story? Have you discovered your immigrant ancestor’s country of origin? What factors compelled them to leave everything familiar and move their families to a strange new land? Immigration and migration must be explored in order to understand the circumstances behind how they came to settle where they did. We will examine some early immigration movements, including specific groups and settlement plans, for those who chose to make Canada their new home.
